The company's primary objectives include providing farmers in Maharashtra with high-quality fertilizers, pesticides, agro engineering implements, and animal feed at competitive rates and when needed. Here are some key activities and facilities associated with MAIDC:

  • Manufacturing of Fertilizers: MAIDC is engaged in the production of granulated mixed fertilizers (NPK) in various proportions at its factories located in Pachora (Jalgaon District), Jalna,Nanded, Wardha, Kolhapur, and Rasayani (Raigad District). These fertilizers are sold under th Krushi Udyog (KU) brand.
  • Pesticide Formulation: Through its subsidiary company, Maharashtra Insecticides Limited (MIL), MAIDC formulates pesticides at its plants in Akola and Lote Parashuram (Ratnagiri District).
  • Agricultural Engineering: MAIDC operates an agricultural engineering facility in Chinchwad, Pune, where it manufactures KRUSHIVATOR, a tractor-drawn implement designed to assist farmers in their agricultural activities.
  • Animal Feed Manufacturing: The company has an animal feed manufacturing unit located in Chinchwad, Pune. It produces various combinations of nutritious animal feed products and can customize them based on specific requirements.
  • Food Processing: MAIDC has a small unit in Nagpur that produces fruit juices, squashes, syrups, jams, ketchups, and other food products under the brand name 'NOGA.' This brand was initially associated with the Nagpur Orange Growers Association and was later taken over by the Maharashtra Government and entrusted to MAIDC in 1972.
  • Headquarters and Regional Offices: MAIDC is headquartered in Mumbai and operates through twelve regional offices located across different regions of Maharashtra, including Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Nashik, Jalgaon, Pune, Aurangabad, Nanded, Osmanabad, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, and Chandrapur.
  • State Nodal Agency: The company has been designated as the State Nodal Agency by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. In this role, MAIDC evaluates and forwards various proposals from entrepreneurs seeking assistance under different government schemes. It also assists entrepreneurs in project preparation and area selection.
  • Food Park and Flower Auction Centre: MAIDC has developed a Food Park at Butibori near Nagpur, providing common infrastructure facilities for small to medium food processing units. Additionally, the company is in the process of setting up a Flower Auction Centre in Mumbai.
