The Fertilizer Division of Maharashtra Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd (MAIDC) has been a key contributor to the organization's mission of empowering farmers to increase their agricultural produce both in terms of quantity and quality, ultimately improving their income.   • Establishment and Growth: The Fertilizer Division was set up as a separate division in 1985, focusing on the manufacturing and marketing of fertilizers. It has played a pivotal role in promoting balanced granulated fertilizers, which have gained a competitive edge due to strict quality control measures.
  • Product Range: The division manufactures and markets fertilizers under the brand name "Krushi Udyog." Three main fertilizer grades are produced:
    • K. U. 18:18:10
    • K. U. 20:10:10
    • K. U. 20:20:00
  • Manufacturing Facilities: The division operates manufacturing plants at various locations across Maharashtra, including Rasayani (Raigad District), Pachora (Jalgaon District), Nanded, Wardha, Kolhapur, and Jalna. Additionally, manufacturing is outsourced to plants in Amaravati, Rukdi (Kolhapur District), and Kolhapur.
  • Diverse Product Range: In addition to the standard NPK fertilizers, the division also supplies bio-fertilizers, micro-nutrient fertilizers, and gypsum under various Central and State Government schemes. Since 2015, it has expanded its product portfolio to include bio-fertilizers, micro-nutrients, compost fertilizers, and ammonium sulphate under the Krushi Udyog brand.
  • Fertilizer Trading:** Apart from manufacturing, the division is involved in trading various fertilizers, including Urea, DAP (Diammonium Phosphate), MOP (Muriate of Potash), SSP (Single Super Phosphate), and fertilizers manufactured by reputed organizations such as RCF (Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers), PPL (Paradeep Phosphates Limited), NFL (National Fertilizers Limited), GSFC (Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited), GNVFC (Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited), IPL (Indian Potash Limited), and MMTC (Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India).
  • Distribution Network: ** The Fertilizer Division employs a robust marketing strategy through its 13 regional offices spread across Maharashtra. These regional offices oversee a vast network of 1,500 distributors throughout the state, ensuring the efficient distribution of fertilizers to farmers.
